Owner of Crisp Appraisal Service and Co-Owner of ABC – Appraiser’s Business Companion has been appraising for the past 32 years. A Certified Residential Appraiser in the State of Texas. He is an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor and has taught a variety of qualifying and continuing education appraisal courses across the country. He has made presentations to national appraisal conventions, as well as local lenders, underwriters, Realtors and agents over the past 24 years. He has authored and co-authored appraisal courses and has published many articles regarding issues appraisers face regarding USPAP, FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, USDA, Federal Credit Unions, and others.
Mr. Crisp introduced the idea of a Mentorship Program to Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board (TALCB) in 2009. Upon the development of this program, he was appointed by TALCB to serve as a Mentor for the TALCB Mentorship Program and has served on this program since its inception in 2010. He was appointed by TALCB to be an investigative appraiser to the TALCB Peer Investigative Committee in 2010 and served for four years.
He is one of the founding members of the National Association of Appraisers (NAA) and served on its initial Board of Directors.
Mr. Crisp is one of the founding members of the Association of Texas Appraisers (ATA). He has served as its Chairman of the Board from August 2015 to August 2023. He has served as the ATA President from August 2007 to August 2008 and again from August 2014 to August 2015. He holds their ATA-R designation.
He is an approved FHA appraiser on their Lender Selection Roster and is an approved VA Fee Appraiser. He is a member of the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR), National Association of Realtors (NAR), Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), and has been a member of several appraisal organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western States University. Mr. Crisp is married with three children and five grandchildren.
