    Members, the Association of Texas Appraisers (ATA) will be hosting an interactive panel discussion to examine the advantages of taking on trainee appraisers. The meeting is scheduled to take place on May 9th from 4pm - 6pm. We'll be hosting a panel of seasoned supervisory appraisers to discuss all topics related to taking on trainees. The agenda will include the following topics:

    1. Pay Structures, how to retain trainees and run a profitable business.

    2. Training, pros and cons of the different training methods and procedures. 

    3. Good Business Practices/HR Policies

    4. Supervisor's Ethical Responsibilities

    ATA’s Houston Area Meeting will be held on May 31 at the Houston Courtyard Marriott Energy Corridor, 12401 Katy Freeway, Houston.

    The meeting schedule will be:

    • Friday - 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - 2024-2025 7-Hour USPAP Update Class - Each attendee must pre-purchase from ATA or bring their own copy of the 2024-2025 USPAP Publication, the 2024 USPAP Guidance and Reference Manual (GRM) and the 2024-2025 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course Student Manual, either digital or paper copy.  Instructor - Pam Teel, Teel Consulting Services.

    Attendees will have the opportunity to network with fellow appraisal professionals at breakfast, breaks and lunch.

    Who Should Attend

    Anyone who needs to stay on the leading edge of appraisal issues, as well as professionals who are responsible for keeping appraisal processes in compliance.

    Registration Fees (Fees increase $20 14 days before the meeting.)

    The fee to attend this meeting is $295 for ATA members and $395 for non-members (price includes all course materials).

    You also have the option to purchase your materials directly from the Appraisal Foundation.  The fee for this is $150 for ATA members and $250 for non-members.  You'll need to bring a copy of the following books with you to class (no exceptions):

    • 2024 USPAP Guidance and Reference Manual (GRM)
    • 2024-2025 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course Student Manual
